OWA's Alpine & Mountain Programs

OWA's Mountain Skills

June 16-25, 2008 Colorado Mountaineering

OWA's Colorado Mountaineering Program is just the thing to get your alpine climbing career started.

The program originates at Base Camp and begins with a week long mountain trip into the alpine of the Mosquito Range.  This week is devoted to learning the basics of alpine climbing, including -- technical rock and snow climbing, snow study, terrain evalulation and altitude considerations.  The trip is designed around the strength and desires of the group members, allowing each member opportunity to learn as much about the alpine climbing environment as possible.

If alpine climbing alone doesn't do it for you and you want a little of both alpine and rock climbing this summer, combine OWA Colorado Mountaineering with Wyoming Rock Trip for 25 days of Ultimate Climbing.  Ultimate Climbing is a very well rounded climbing experience allowing team members a chance to get high in the mountains and out into the wild Tarryalls for some real adventure Climbing.  By combining programs, families can save up to 15% off of individual camp fees.

The sky is virtually the limit! No previous climbing or backcountry experience is required, but participants should be prepared for a rigorous schedule.

This is great training for a future OWA's major expeditions such as the Bolivian Andes or Swiss Alps.

All technical gear and camping equipment is provided by OWA.
