This past January, Houston’s Emery Weiner School finished their annual 10th grade trip to Reveille Peak Ranch with Outpost Wilderness Adventure!
The trip is a week long adventure filled outing where the Houstonians get a taste of the beautiful Texas Hill Country. The high-schoolers got a chance to go rock climbing and rappelling on the Ranch’s namesake Reveille Peak. The students all enjoyed scenic views of the hill country while learning how to belay, overcoming their fear of heights, and testing their physical climbing ability.

Students also got to enjoy the best mountain biking Trails in Central Texas! Reveille Peak operates as a premier mountain bike ranch where enthusiasts from all over Texas travel to enjoy the Moab like trails in the beautiful sprawling landscape. Emery students got the exclusive chance to ride these trails during the week with OWA mountain bikes and guides, and some students even learned to ride a bike for the first time!
Reveille Peak Ranch and OWA teamed up this year with The Highland Lakes Naturalists to provide an interpretive nature hike of the property! The Master Naturalists taught the kids about the local flora and fauna of the Texas Hill Country, the human history of the area, and the unique geology of the ranch. It was a truly special opportunity to these experts as a resource for the educational component of this trip!
