Custom Programs (11) Have you ever thought about taking your passion as a mountain biker and guiding other people? OWA mountain bike guides are some of the best in the business. We have guided throughout North America and continue to guide in Moab, Fruita and the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. In the past we helped develop and may the trails in the Copper Canyon region of Mexico! This course is designed to give you the skills and real life practice it takes to learn how to guide mountain biking trips and courses. We also cover how to teach mountain biking techniques and coach. This course is taught by James Faerber the Outpost Wilderness Adventure senior guide. James is currently a coach for the St. Stephens Episcopal School High School Mountain Biking team. He is a Cat 1 racer with an impressive Single Speed record. He has raced throughout the West and been involved with major cycling events such as the Bailey Hundo. He routinely guides in Moab/Fruita in the Copper Canyon as well as Colorado. The Colorado Trail near South Park is his favorite place to guide!

This course follows the newly developed curriculm of the US Mountain Bike Guides Association! Dedicated to improving the quality of mountain bikes guides in the United States, mountain bikes guides differ in skills and abilities from cycling coaches or instructors and there is a lack of true guide training in the US. The mission of USMTBGA is to offer training course and improve the professionalism of mountain bike guides in the US by offering standardized training and assessment courses.
