The OWA Philosophy
From the outset, OWA's particular philosophy has been built around providing a quality, small group experience with an opportunity for in-depth learning and experience at a high level that is quality and fun oriented. We are sold on the many benefits of living and playing in the outdoors and in the wild outdoors in particular. We strictly adhere to the accepted backcountry and cultural ethic of minimum impact and make every effort to instill a sense of respect for the outdoors among all of our team members and clients.

Adventure is at the core of every OWA activity and that means experiencing things that are outside of the normal realm of experience. We offer both introductory and advanced training in a variety of adventure-sports from rock climbing to fly fishing, mountain biking, rafting, and backpacking to ice climbing as well as expeditons to some of the most exotic adventure destinations on earth. Past OWA teams have explored and climbed in Ecuador, Bolivia, Hawaii, Costa Rica, Alaska, Canada, the Alps, Mexico and all across the Western US.

Whether it's a weekend program at Base Camp or a summit attempt on one of the world's great peaks-- we make every effort to  provide adventure experiences that create great memories and great lessons that can be brought back and positively applied to the real world. While there are always physically, emotionally, and mentally challenging times in the backcountry, OWA is in this for the fun of it and we want all of our team members to walk away from each OWA experience eager for an even bigger taste of the excitement of the wild! It should be noted that OWA does the real thing. We make no apologies for doing what we say we're gonna do. Adventure travel and adventure sports come with their price--out of the way places, unpredictable weather, sweat, long days/nights, cold, tired legs, some inherent danger etc. etc. etc. are the price you pay for a true adventure experience and we're here to help our team members deal with the hardships and relish the rewards!
