Arturo has been working with OWA as a visiting guide since 1996. He owns and operates his own adventure guiding business-- Umarike Expeditions based in Creel-- the heart of Mexico's Copper Canyon area. A native of Chihuahua, Arturo spent three years as an exchange student in the US during his high school years and is completely fluent in English. He has has an unparralled understanding of a variety of cultures and a thorough backgound in backcountry travel, rock and alpine climbing and mountain biking. He has received formal training in mountain skills in Wales and is a Wilderness First Responder. He and wife Audrey have one son, Tomas.
