OWA is noted as a leader in serious adventure instruction and education for motivated beginners as well as experienced adventurers

OWA summer programs generally originate at the Denver international airport and then head into the nearby rocky mountains of Colorado and Wyoming. Many programs do not require previous experience, but participants should be prepared for an active experience in a relatively remote setting. OWA provides all group gear and has most other gear available for rent including backpacks, climbing gear, mountain bikes, and mountaineering gear along with transportation to and from the Denver International Airport, great food and some of the best guides and leaders in the business! Group size is limited so inquire early. Check out our video to meet some former campers.

OWA is fully insured and operates on public lands under permit through the US Forest Service, BLM of Colorado and Utah, Enchanted Rock State Natural Area, and National Park Service. OWA is an Equal Opportunity Employer and Service Provider.

Summer Camp (6)

Our cornerstone rock-climbing road trip is back for this year! On our Colorado Rock Trip, we travel and climb at some of the best climbing destinations that Colorado has to offer. A great variety of routes and diversity of rock make this trip an excellent option for the beginner or experienced climber. Youth will have an opportunity to learn basic and advanced climbing techniques such as belaying, anchor building, trad climbing, multi-pitch, lead climbing, and overall technique. This trip is perfect for climbers who want to hit the road for a week, leave the city behind, and focus on climbing. Just like any good road trip, we visit local attractions, eat at great locally owned restaurants, and spend nights camping under the stars near the crags. It’s sure to be a trip to remember!

The cost for our program is all-inclusive, which means gear, transport to and from the Denver airport, and all food/housing is covered. Our list of possible climbing sites includes Penitente Canyon, Shelf Road, Turkey Rocks, 11 mile canyon and others (dependent on weather and local restrictions). Guide to student ratios are very low so we can focus on personal instruction.
