UTE TRAIL RIVER RANCH...
when you're angling for something different

Tucked into the rugged Tarryall Mountains on the banks of the rushing Tarryall River,
just 85 miles southwest of Denver and 60 miles northwest of Colorado Springs,
Ute Trail River Ranch is a restored, turn-of-the-century fly fishing camp
that rekindles the spirit of the way life used to be in the Colorado Rockies.

Ute Trail River Ranch has seven, hand-hewn log cabins (they once housed miners seeking their fortunes in gold) that take you back in time with their enchanting, refined, mountain lodge decor. All are fully furnished from snugly bed linens and woolen lodge blankets to cast iron skillets, coffee pots and mugs. The cabins accommodate from two to six people.  Two cabins have private baths with showers and are open yearend while the other five cabins share a convenient shower house containing the shower and bathroom facilities (flannel robes are provided for guests in shared bath cabins).

Fly fishers and non-fishers alike delight in the leisurely pace and quiet beauty found here.  Streamside fly fishing is a must for many guests, especially since the Ranch was featured on ESPN's "Fly Fishing America" show.  Fishing on our private stretch of river is restricted to fly fishing with a fly rod and reel only and is strictly catch and release.  We provide fly fishing equipment for guests when fishing our property and are happy to offer some basic instruction to get you started.  Fishing licenses (which are required) and hand-tied flies can be purchased at the Ute Trail Tradin' Post, our small country store located in the main lodge.

The Ranch sits on 35 acres in the Pike National Forest and the Lost Creek Wilderness, which can only be accessed on foot or on horseback, is our backyard.  Our namesake, the Ute Creek Trail, has it all -- a crystal clear creek, beaver ponds, wildflowers, expansive blue skies, fragrant mountain air, and spectacular wildlife (we frequently see elk, deer, big horn sheep, beavers, porcupines, coyotes, eagles, red-tail hawks, owls, squirrels, chipmunks and, of course, hummingbirds).  The Ranch sits at 9,000' and the area hiking trails quickly take you up to the peaks around us topping out at 12,000' plus.

Ute Trail River Ranch is open year-round with the two private cabins and a suite in the main lodge.  The five shared bath cabins are open from mid-May to early October (weather permitting).  During the "off-season", dinner and breakfast packages can be included with your lodging.  Ute Trail River Ranch is a Non-Smoking facility.  Pets are permitted in the shared bath cabins during the summertime, but advance permission is REQUIRED for all visiting pets.  The number of guests permitted in each cabin is limited to ensure guest comfort and safety.  Please do not ask us to exceed this established number of guests per cabin.

RESERVATIONS and CANCELLATIONS

Advance reservations are preferred and are strongly recommended.  We do have minimum night stay requirements for all cabins.  A confirmation deposit equal to 50% of the entire stay is necessary to confirm a reservation. The balance of your stay plus taxes are to be paid upon arrival.  Discover, Mastercard and Visa are accepted.  If paying by check or money order, the deposit must be received within seven (7) days after making the reservation, otherwise the reservation will be automatically cancelled.  Any reservation made within 30 days of arrival must be confirmed with a credit card deposit.

If your plans should change, we will be pleased to refund your deposit less a cancellation fee equal to one night's stay per cabin reserved provided we receive notice at least 30 days prior to your scheduled arrival date.  However, if the reservation is cancelled within 30 days of your scheduled arrival date, the full deposit is non-refundable.  Guests are responsible for payment of all nights reserved, regardless of their actual arrival or departure date.  Prices and reservation/cancellation policies may change without notice.  Holiday rates differ from regular season rates.
