Connect with OWA

“OWA is a great experience in a beautiful part of Colorado. All the counselors are really helpful, fun, and flexible. They help you safely step outside of your comfort zone and personalize your experience. I became close with other campers and built good relationships” – Sage, age 14 | Austin, TX

“Outpost Wilderness Adventure is definitely a true outdoor experience. It tests your courage and mind to go outside of your comfort zone and to really try new things, most of which you never even knew you could do! What I loved about the camp was that I got to meet so many new people who I was able to easily bond with! What’s really amazing though is the staff. The staff at Outpost Wilderness Adventure is outgoing and fun loving. They’re friendly and overly encouraging to you. They give you confidence to do your best! The equipment that is available for our use is plentiful and is very nice too. They have a whole shed filled with climbing gear, a whole area designated and fitted for about 30 different mountain bikes, and even separate bunk rooms with their own showers and toilets! The best part of all is that you get to see some of the most beautiful spots of Colorado, much more some of the most beautiful spots in the entire country! I’m definitely looking forward to going back next year to experience it all over again!” – Brandon, age 14 Houston, TX

“OWA has changed my life for the better. I went my first year as a shy young boy at the age of 10. It was a tough summer. I had just finished my last year of elementary school and was nervously awaiting middle school. I did not have too many “skills” so to speak, and my family thought that OWA would be the perfect opportunity for me to go and explore the outdoors.

I arrived a few weeks after I had registered and was blown away with where I was. Just a week earlier I had been in the capitol city of Texas, and now I was in the middle of the Tarryall Valley. I was going to set out for rock climbing, backpacking, and mountain biking.

The first year was the toughest. It was the first time I had ever been away from home, but I got through it with the help of guides and fellow campers. I have now finished my 6th year of attending OWA and have loved every minute of it. I have now gone to Adventure Skills, Mountaineering, South Park Epic Mountain Bike, and Mountain bike race and skills camps. Every year is going to be new; there will be new friends, new guides, and most of all new memories. Like I said OWA changed me for the better, I now have “skills”, I am now more confident, and I have wonderful memories that will stay with me forever.”-Grant, Age 16 Austin, TX
