Colorado Mountaineering
June 16-June 25 Coed Age Group: 13-17

Alpine climbing on some of the best terrain in Colorado!  Rock and Snow techniques for aspiring mountaineers.

This trip gets into the basic aspects of mountaineering and alpine climbing and applies them in the pristine and spectacular environment of the Colorado Rockies.  Rope team travel, rock and snow climbing, self arrest, self rescue, snow science, weather and backcountry living are just a few of the skills we'll work on in the high mountain environment.  We have designed the program to help team members become better all-around mountaineers, experience real mountain living and gain the range of experience necessary for future expeditions to the Alps or Bolivia.  Up to 3-5 summits can be climbed during this trip.

Course length is 10 days with 7 days in the backcountry.  No previous experience is necessary but team members should be ready to get on the big rock and snow.

Guide to client ratio (3:1) is small to maximize personal learning.  Group size limited to 9.

Back for 2008!  Come Train & Race your Bike with OWA!

If you are into mountain biking, this is the trip for you.  Our Mountain Bike RACE Camp is designed to give team members "a leg up on the competition".  The group rides every day with a focus on developing the technical skills and fitness necessary for racing mountain bikes competitively...........and will at the same time develop the full range of skills to help each person become truly proficient at mountain biking .

Located at 9000 feat above sea level, central Colorado is the perfect place to get and stay strong with a multitude of varied terrain on some of the best trails in the world.  There will be actual racing opportunities as the Colorado race schedule permits including local Summit Series races in Breckenridge/Keystone/Vail and typically one NORBA/Mountain States Cup event.  Racing is NOT required-- some team members are typically more interested in skill development and not in racing itself and they can help with logistics and support of teammates during race events.

Obviously, no one can ride 24/7-- so there are other diversions that might include whitewater rafting, hot springs, and rock climbing.  Specific instruction is offered in technical riding skills, fitness and nutrition, race strategies, mechanic skills/repairs, trail maintenance and responsible/minimum impact use of riding resources.

The new 2008 OWA Team Jersey is included in the camp fee, water bottle and socks -- The whole uniform!

The exact itinerary will be built around the local Colorado race schedule as it becomes set.
