 Wyoming

Wyoming is the least populated state, what better reason to visit here while trying to “get away from it all”. We are more likely to encounter wildlife than people on the trips to the Cowboy state. Wyoming is known for its rugged mountains and people. OWA director James Faerber spent part of his childhood in this amazing state and often shows up on a trip or two every summer because he loves it so much here. We guide in 2 major areas in Wyoming, the world famous Yellowstone National Park and the Wind River Range in central Wyoming. For climbing and mountaineering it is hard to beat the backcountry climbing of the Wind Rivers, these are the most serious and committing trips we lead in the continental US and it is easy to see why. Huge granite formations and glaciers flanked by pristine alpine lakes are what epitomize this mountain range. We offer a few options for trips from 4 day backpacking and sightseeing, to 10 day mountaineering and climbing expeditions. We would love to have you join us in the alpine playground.
